GN-2A

Die GN-2A vom englischen Hersteller STC - die übrigens wie die GN-1 den Markennamen Nodistron trägt - gehört auch zur großen 25mm-GN-Serie (GN-1, GN-5, GN-5A) und ist für eine Kopffüßlernixie daher ziemlich groß:

Die GN-2A wurde oft in Dreierblöcken verbaut; hier ist ein solcher Block zu sehen:

Oberhalb der Röhren lässt sich die Beschriftung G10/200E erkennen; mit der G10/200E haben diese Röhren aber nichts zu tun, und trotzdem findet man im Internet immer wieder eben diese Aussage.

Das folgende Bild, das mit per Email zugesandt wurde, stellt ein ähnliches Modul dar:

Das Blechmodul ist genau das selbe (zu erkennen an den gleichen Aufklebern V11 bis V13 und dem verwirrenden G10/200E), und der Hersteller dieser Röhren ist STC. Doch diese Röhren sind als GN-2 bezeichnet, obwohl sie nicht rot eingefärbt sind, was entweder auf einen Herstellungsfehler hindeutet, oder anzeigt, dass die britische Röhrennomenklatur nicht immer korrekt angewendet worden ist.

Wer etwas zu diesem Namensdebakel weiß, oder sogar selber eine GN-2 oder GN-2A besitzt, kann mir gerne eine Email schreiben, ich würde mich über eine Aufklärung sehr freuen.

GN-2A

The GN-2A - bearing the brand name Nodistron just like the GN-1 - from the British manufacturer STC belongs to the 25mm GN-series (GN-1, GN-5, GN-5A) and is a moderately large top-view Nixie tube:

The GN-2A has been used in modules with three tubes, here you can see such a module:

Above the tubes you can see the label G10/200E; but these tubes have nothing to do with the G10/200E, but some people get confused with that.

The following picture that I received via email shows another one of these modules:

The aluminum frame is exactly the same (compare the labels V11..V13, and the misleading G10/200E, and the manufacturer of the tubes is STC. But: These tubes are labelled GN-2. This is confusing, because they are not coloured red, but you would expect a tube with a missing "A" at the end to be coloured red in accordance to the British valve nomenclature.

If you have some information regarding this name fiasco, or possess a GN-2 or GN-2A so that a comparison is possible, please do not hesitate to contact me.
